<p>Let&#8217;s talk about wellness. It may seem odd for an insurance professional to talk about wellness, but if you give some consideration it makes perfect sense. My main job is to keep your insurance dollars down to a minimum<span id="more-260"></span> while providing you with your best options for your situation.</p>
<p>Wellness will be a big issue in the State of Alabama in 2010. According to NAHU (National Association of Health Underwriters), Alabama state employees will face financial ramifications for obesity and poor health practices. With benefits for most state employees are low in premium dollar cost, this new mandate will require all employees to &#8220;get with the program&#8221; and get healthy or see an increase in their insurance costs.</p>
<p>Wellness is also an issue that the new US Administration will be encouraging as they try to figure out the health care for the U.S. With wellness programs in place, the U.S. Government sees a substantial savings as more people stay well and less need medical care.</p>
<p>Wellness is nothing new. We learned it in school through P.E. and our general nutrition classes. We all just tend to migrate toward ease and relaxing and spend less time &#8220;Sweatin&#8217; To the Oldies&#8221;. The older we get, the slower we seems to want to move. The next time you are out, look for a few things: (1) How many tobacco users do you see? (2) How many people do you see who could be borderline overweight or even obese? (3) What did the people sitting around you get to eat? Things like this, should you choose to notice them will shock you. Then ask yourself why the state of Alabama currently ranks 2nd in the nation for obesity.</p>
<p>A wellness program in your place of employment could be the jumpstart you and your people need to be more productive, lead healthier lives, and finally take control of their potential longevity.</p>

<p><b class="titler">How to Make Your Body Prom Dress Ready</b><br />

<p>A beautiful prom dress deserves a beautiful body to carry it.  Toned muscles, soft skin, and luscious hair all play a key role in your prom night beauty. <span id="more-258"></span> Even if you have a designer prom dress that fits like a dream, you will still be displaying parts of your body that must be ready to accept the attention.  Nothing makes a designer prom dress more beautiful and more perfectly fitted than healthy skin, hair, and muscles.  Read on to learn how to shape, tone, and treat your body to make it worthy of your glamorous prom dress.
<p>The first step toward a beautiful body is general fitness.  Physical fitness tends to have beneficial effects on nearly every aspect of your body.  With a proper amount of physical activity and good nutrition, your skin should be glowing, and your hair will be healthy and strong.  Your back and shoulders will also look sexy and toned if you are wearing a strapless or backless prom dress.  </p>
<p>You do not need to devote your life to the gym or submit to a starvation diet to achieve an appropriate level of physical fitness.  Simply be sure that you are accomplishing a moderate amount of physical activity throughout your day (approximately one hour per day for teenagers) and eating foods that are high in nutritional value and low in sugar and fat.  The occasional sweet treat will not kill you, but a fast food diet just might.  </p>
<p>To help you achieve your desired amount of physical fitness, decide a couple of months before your prom what type of prom dress you would like to wear.  Keep a picture of this dress in your mind as you work to slim and tone the areas of your body the dress will highlight.  Do not forget to target your triceps, as these muscles are often ignored by common aerobic exercises and are generally featured by most prom dresses.  On prom night, you will look toned, healthy, and beautiful.  Plus, you will probably be able to outlast your date on the dance floor!</p>
<p>For the right look, your prom dress will also require soft, sexy skin.  To achieve a feminine glow on the day of your prom, be sure to exfoliate with a face and body scrub before stepping into the shower.  Massage the exfoliant into your skin and then rinse it off.  You will emerge with baby soft skin that will be a fabulous complement to your prom dress.  </p>
<p>For silky smooth legs, slather on some shaving cream in the bath or shower and shave against the grain of your hair with a brand new, sharp razor.  Before toweling off, rub a body oil or lotion all over your skin.  The dampness and heat from the shower will help your skin absorb the moisture and glow with life.  </p>
<p>Once you put on your prom dress for the night, apply a body lotion with shimmer wherever your skin is revealed.  The shimmer will catch the light and make you the star of the night.  For a healthy glow in your face, apply a small amount of cream blush to the apples of your cheeks and seal it with an illuminating powder.  Your skin will be soft, fresh, and inviting.</p>
<p>To give yourself healthy, shiny hair to match your beautiful dress, be sure to wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo the day before the prom.  The shampoo will give your hair more body and allow the conditioner to penetrate more thoroughly for sleek smoothness.  Apply a deep conditioner to your hair and let it set in for at least 10 minutes.  While rinsing, work the conditioner through your hair with a wide-toothed comb for even application.  If you have thin or limp hair, spray a volumizing solution on the roots while your hair is wet for extra hold.  </p>
<p>If you plan to curl your hair or wear an updo on prom night, leave your hair unwashed on the day of the prom.  Slightly dirty hair will hold your style better.  Once you style your hair, spray the finished product with some gloss for a light-catching shine.  Your hair will be beautiful, healthy, and a perfect addition to your prom dress.</p>
<p>On prom night, you should be prepared to show off not only your prom dress, but your body, as well.  Taking some time to tone and beautify yourself will inevitably result in a striking, attention-grabbing appearance at the prom.</p>

<p>Perhaps you may have seen a list of alkaline foods and wonder, why should we eat more alkaline-rich foods than acidic ones? To better understand, let us first<span id="more-253"></span> discuss the importance of keeping a balance pH level of the body.</p>
<p>pH stands for &#8220;potential of Hydrogen and is used to define the level of acidity or alkalinity of a solution.&#8221; The pH range can be from 0-14, with 0 being the highest level of acidity and 14 as the highest level of alkalinity. Our blood contains both acid and alkaline residues from the food we consume. Thus, the ideal pH of a healthy person is at 7.35 &#8211; 7.45. Even just a slight decrease of this level can cause damage to our cells, tissues, organs and eventually our body system.</p>
<p>Our cells need enzymes and nutrients to survive and we get these essential nutrients from the food we eat. Some foods contain higher levels of acid while there are foods that contain higher levels of alkaline. Acidic foods will of course leave acid residue and will be absorbed by our blood cells. On the contrary, alkaline-rich foods will leave alkaline residue in our cells. This is why there is a direct relationship between proper eating and maintaining a balance pH.</p>
<p>Nature has provided us with an abundant food variety. Fruits and vegetables are not just limited to a few kinds so we need not feel bored in eating the same thing every day. We don&#8217;t even have to deprive ourselves by sticking with just one type of meal to be fit and strong. All we need to do is to determine the level of alkalinity and acidity of different foods and match it with our diets.</p>
<p>Anthony Robbins has come with a list of alkaline foods and acidic foods so it shouldn&#8217;t be difficult to start this new method of dieting. Understandably, we should lessen our intake of acidic meals and beverages especially if we have already reached the borderline of being acidic. Remember that excessive levels of acid in our system can lead to the development of serious diseases.</p>

However I&#039;m getting quite confused. While most people say that the 1000kcal diet is effective, it shouldn&#039;t be done in a long run. Some suggested that 1500kcal diet is better.</p>
<p>So I&#039;d like to ask for opinions and suggestions. I&#039;m a diet newbie. Maybe I shouldn&#039;t go all extreme?<br />
